Born into a family of teachers, John has been tutoring for over 15 years. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, John has tutored everything from Test Prep and Calculus to Public Speaking and College Essays. While in university, he taught 4th grade English and tutored math on the side.
For the past decade, John has tutored Math, Science, English, US and World History, Essay Support, ACT, SAT, and ISEE Test Prep, and a host of other subjects.
Having lived in both Spain and Japan, he is an obsessive lover of languages and etymology. When not tutoring, John works as a professional writer and editor. He spent three years as an editor with the LA Review of Books before becoming the literary manager for 406Arts in Los Angeles.
In addition to his tutoring, John has worked extensively as an advertising copywriter, developing and executing award-winning campaigns for multinational brands and Oscar-winning films. John has also worked as a celebrity ghostwriter and a script doctor.
